A complex pair of junctions. 21A gives access only to the M1 nothbound.
To travel south on the M1 you leave the motorway at 21 and take a short journey on the A405.

There is a petrol station just off the main road if turning south. Follow the sign for Bricket Wood and you will see the petrol station as you reach the corner. You can rejoin the main road for M1 southbound or go into the village for local services. I haven't checked these out so can't guarantee what is available.
As the link from the M25 to the southbound M1 is a dual carriageway this junction isn't recommended for a break if you wish to return to the M25
